The Elements

Reiki & Aromatherapy

GOCW's Director of Integrative Health, Rick Beck, is a Montana native and Reiki Master with over eight years of experience.

REIKI ("Ray-Key") is the universal life force that embodies all living things. During a Reiki session, you lie fully clothed on a massage table in a safe and relaxing setting while a Reiki practitioner channels energy through your entire being. Reiki is not massage, but involves a series of gentle, non-invasive hand placements upon or slightly above the body. Reiki naturally flows where it is needed most, dissolving energy blockages and increasing energetic flow and harmony throughout your physical, spiritual, mental and emotional bodies.

REIKI is an energetic therapy ideal for:
  • stimulating self-healing and the body's natural immune defenses
  • alleviating pain, nausea, and general discomfort
  • increasing energy levels, stamina and appetite
  • decreasing post-operative recovery time
  • instilling an overall sense of peace, calm and tranquility.

Some people experience a feeling of heat, flowing water or electricity during their Reiki session, while others feel nothing distinctive. Most enter a near sleep state often filled with visuals of brilliant colors, healing waters, or bright lights before "awakening" from a restful nap. Since Reiki promotes healing on spiritual, mental, emotional and physical levels, some individuals may not fully appreciate the effects of their session for days or weeks.

REIKI is a wonderful complement to modern medical treatment. Be sure to tell your doctor that you are considering Reiki. As with all energetic therapies designed to promote wellness, Reiki can produce mild "cleansing reactions". It is therefore very important following a Reikisession to drink plenty of water to aid the body in flushing out unwanted toxins.

Health insurance providers do not currently cover the average $40 to $60 fee for a Reiki session, which GOCW provides free of charge to its patients and their family members. We do welcome and appreciate your donations to the Guardian Angels Foundation!
